Machine Beauty

The book describes the beauty of the machine that engineering students often overlook. It deals with especially computer, not overall machines.

The mean of 'beauty' contains not only the beauty of the surface of the machine, but also the part of the concepts of the software. For example, the innovative thought when moving from DOS to Windows and Recursion - the technique which applies to every software's structure.

It is very interesting to know that the computers - we just use it unconsciously - were invented by programmer's pursue of the 'beauty'. The book is like the study of the history of computer. The book contains some special vocabularies in computer science, but there is no complicated theory or mathmatical explain, so people not majoring in computer science can read it easily.

And the author criticized the computer system with a keen eye. For example, why computer not have a system moving files to another device when there is not enough space.

Those questions will give the students majoring in computer science a lot of valuable things to consider. The drawback of the book is that the book was published too many years ago.
